Mary Weilbacher

Our dear Mother died on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 7:00 pm at the Carpenter House at the age of 93. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, and lived at Williamsburg Retirement Community since 2009. A retired Registered Dietician, she had a degree in Home Economics from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, and graduate studies at the University of Texas and LSU, Baton Rouge. She was a member of the local, state, and national American Dietetic Associations. A parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for many years, her activities included Committed Adorer Prayer Line Altar Society and RENEW, an inhome bible study program. In addition to being with her family, Mothers most cherished times were playing bridge with her friends. She is survived by two daughters, Ann W. Haveman Ben of Mandeville and Ellen W. Rhorer Philip of Grosse Tete three sons, Henry A. Weilbacher, Dr. Stephen J. Weilbacher Kathy and Kurt L. Weilbacher Jodie all of Baton Rouge and seven grandchildren, Treye Weilbacher, Jennifer Lankford, Corey Weiss, Taylor Weilbacher, Stephen Weilbacher, Kameron Aaron and Kendall Bailey and seven greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Henry J. Weilbacher, parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Trawalter, brother Rev. Louis Trawalter, and sister Caroline T. Owen. Visiting on Thursday Aug 23, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9 am until mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am conducted by the Rev. Miles Walsh. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Treye Weilbacher, Taylor Weilbacher, Lance Lankford, Ben Haveman, Jim Schulze, and Richard Schulze. Honorary Pall Bearers are Philip Rhorer, Scott Weiss, and Steve Faulkner. Thanks are extended to the staff of Williamsburg for making Mothers 3 12 years of residence such a pleasure and for the wonderful, loving care extended to her. Many thanks to family friend, Betty Andrews, and the caregivers during her illness, including Janice Spears, Ida Matthews, and Florence McRay. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Vincent De Paul Society, P O Box 127, Baton Rouge, LA 70821. Resthaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
