After 98 years of being a blessing to her family and all who knew her, Mary Aime Pruyn entered into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 9, 2015. She was born on April 21, 1916 and was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she lived with her daughter.
Mary is survived by her sister, Leah Jasinski; her daughter, Dottie McGehee; her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Kitty Pruyn; 7 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her "Mawmaw" or "Granny"; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Octave and Marcelite Lalumandier Aime of Corbin, Louisiana; her husband, Marshall Goodwin Pruyn, Jr., of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and 12 siblings.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Visiting will resume on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 9:00 am until service time.
Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am from the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Interment will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, please offer donations to The Carpenter House, a St. Joseph's Hospice Care facility. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff there and to Dr. Satish Gadi with The Cardiovascular Institute of the South for their care and love for our beloved Mawmaw.
Mawmaw loved her family and was loved by us - she taught us the value of hard work and independence by her actions each day. It is our prayer that we can live our lives to honor her memory.
