Now at rest with our Lord after a joyful reunion with loved ones gone before, Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a resident of Baton Rouge. She died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at age 86. She was a native of Homer. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home on Monday, Dec. 8, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Darwin Enicks. Internment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Evelyn had secretarial jobs with the Camp Fire Girls, the U.S. Ration Board during World War II, the Teacher's Retirement System and Bernard Burk Engineers. She became a homemaker to raise her family of five children and also had time to mold young children she kept in her home. She was the church treasurer of Trinity and Baker Churches of the Nazarene for more than 40 years and was active in The Gideons International Auxiliary. Survived by her three sons, James Losee and his wife, Rebecca, Paul Losee, and Stephen Losee and his wife, Cindy; a daughter, Amy Koon and her husband, Lee; seven grandchildren, Megan Dupont, Michelle Oleson, Jessica Losee, Jamin Koon, Kendall Losee, Garrett Losee and Hannah Losee; eight great-grandchildren, Anthony, Rece and Aubrey Dupont, Lauren and Isaiah Oleson, Reiner Koon and the Oleson twin girls, Addison Maye and Emmerson Kaye. Preceded in death by her parents, James Mosley Oakes and Martha Louise Myers Oakes; husband, Laverne Mowatt Ike Losee; daughter, Patricia Losee; and daughter-in-law, Rita Daigle Losee. Pallbearers will be Brent Arceneaux, Ken Butt, John Jacobson, Lee Koon, Jay Waitek, and Marc Waitek. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Dupont, Jeff Oleson, Bryan Cardin and Harlan Clark. Special thanks to Dr. Hanson for his kind and compassionate care during her battle with breast cancer.
