Mary Fuentes

Mary Beard Fuentes, 51, of Baton Rouge, La., passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. George Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Interment will follow at St. George Catholic Church Mausoleum.

Mary was born September 11, 1963, in Natchez, Mississippi. She was a member of St. George Catholic Church. She was a graduate of University of La. at Monroe (formerly Northeast La. University) and was employed as a Speech Pathologist with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

Survivors include her parents, Gene and Ann Thompson; husband, Arturo Fuentes; children: Gabriela Fuentes, Pamela Hyvonen and husband, Peter, Camila Wiltcher and husband, Michael, and Felipe Fuentes; four grandchildren; three sisters, Sherrill Byrd, Susie Ater and husband, Al, and Holli Mangin and husband, Chris; as well as 6 nephews, 3 nieces, 5 great nephews and 4 great nieces.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Beard.

The family would like to thank Dr. David Hanson and his staff at the Louisiana Hematology/Oncology Associates and MD Anderson Hospital.
