Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed peacefully into the waiting arms of her Savior, Christ Jesus, on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008, at the home of Mary and Paul Brasseaux. All are greatly appreciative of Mary's loving devotion. We also applaud the professionalism and kindness provided by Memorial Hospice. Mary Ann was a devoted member of Lanier Baptist Church for 40 years. She found great happiness in the joy of children and was never without the pleasure of a family pet. Mary Ann is survived by her husband of 56 years, George C. Baggett; three daughters and their husbands, Mary and Paul Brasseaux, Pattie and Bob Stalder and Gaye and Cecil Landry Jr.; son, David and wife Jill Baggett; nine grandchildren, Timmy Brasseaux, Jenifer Stalder, Bobby Joe and wife Lindsey Landry, Joshua and wife Regina Brasseaux, Laurin and husband Mike Hutchinson, Maggie Stalder, Dustin Landry, Tyler Baggett and Regan Baggett; nine great-grandchildren, Brittanie, Haley, Danyon, Paige, Garrett, Blake, Maichol, Champ and Blake Joseph; and sister, Amanda Jane Nettles, Houston. Preceded in death by her loving mother and father, Mary Alberta and Henry Samuel Purtle. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Nov. 23, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation at Lanier Baptist Church on Monday from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
