Martha Bujol Grace passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008. Martha was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge. She was 86 and resided at Williamsburg Senior Living Community. In 1941, she married the love of her life, Thomas A. Grace Jr., and remained by his side until his death in 2007. Family always came first with Martha and she centered her life around her husband, children and grandchildren. Martha was a devoted Catholic and selflessly volunteered at church and wherever needed throughout her life. She will especially be remembered by her many friends and family for her great sense of humor and endless generosity. Martha is survived by her loving family, including two daughters, Jackie Hattox and husband Bill, Kosciusko, Miss., and Donna Gregory and husband Josh; five sons, Thomas A. Grace III, Metairie, Dennis Grace, Pat Grace and wife Debbie, Bob Grace and wife Janet and Donald Grace, Addis; daughter-in-law, Colleen Grace; 16 grandchildren, Nicol, Natalie and Westly Grace, Ryan Grace and wife Stacie, Chad and Tannon Grace, Brandon Hattox and wife Kristen, Eric Hattox and wife Jodi, Jordan, Amanda and Brant Grace, Caroline, Elizabeth and Michael Grace, Christina and Mitchell Gregory; and two great-grandchildren, Chelsea and Madison. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas A. Grace; parents, Octave and Hazel Bujol; twin sister, Marie Vignes; and brother, Leonce Bujol. The family would like to give thanks to the staff of Hospice of Baton Rouge and Williamsburg Senior Living Community. A special heartfelt thanks goes to Alicia, Katie, Patrice and Wanda for the tender care and love they showed Martha during her final days. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. on Monday, Dec. 15, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation resumes at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Tuesday, Dec. 16, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Jaison Mangalath, celebrant, and Monsignor Andrew Frey, concelebrant. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Martha's grandsons will serve as her pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Siegen Lane, Baton Rouge, 70810. Martha will be deeply missed by her loving family and also, her many friends at Williamsburg Senior Living Community.
