Marta Copeland Moulder, age 60, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away at home on Saturday, September 24, 2022 after a hard fought battle with cervical cancer and only lost because of medical errors or she would be here today.
Marta was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge in 1980, but the learning didn’t stop there. She pursued true crime, forensics, law, finance and was currently working on an investigative novel. She was a published journalist with Southeast News and responsible for the beginning of the recycling program in East Baton Rouge Parish. She was also a 2-time published poet in Themes, Thoughts and Treasures, Vol. II. She was an apprentice private investigator, a certified fire restoration expert and also was a caregiver at an assisted living facility. She loved sci-fi, paranormal and supernatural things, music, literature and most of all, bargain hunting! The things to remember most about Marta, was that she would help anyone she met if she was able to. Her kindness and strength are what drove her to fight for life. She tried to put humor into every situation and she will be forever missed but always remembered.
She is survived by her husband of 41+ years, Barry Moulder, and her children Aeryn, Jason and Bill. She is also survived by two brothers, Scott and Karl Copeland.
She was preceded in death by her parents David and Wanda Copeland, two sisters, Dava Doyen and Jeanne Wallace and abrother Kim Copeland.
