A former teacher at Episcopal High School and a teacher at Catholic High School, she died at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. She was 60, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of Havana, Cuba. Visiting at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her husband, Robert L. Bob McCarron Jr.; two sons, Robert L. McCarron III and wife Carla, and Patrick O. McCarron; sister, Carmen H. Vara and husband Juan; two grandchildren, Alyssa Lauren McCarron and Ian Joseph McCarron; three sisters-in-law, Paula McCarron Meeks and husband Jeffrey, Kelly McCarron Mishalow and husband George, and Tammy McCarron Elsner and husband Brad; four nephews, Danny Vara, Alex Vara, Sean Meeks and Blake Elsner; and nieces, Carmen Maria Vara-Napier, Natalie Mishalow and Brooke Elsner; and numerous cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Omar and Marina Hernandez. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
