He passed away peacefully at his home in Prairieville on Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at 5:22 a.m. surrounded by his beloved wife, brother and children. He was 72 and a native of Gramercy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retired U.S. Postal Service worker. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Andrew Merrick. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Faye Laurent; four daughters, Dana Amos and husband Brandon, Danette Leblanc and husband Trey, Darlene Achee and husband Ehren, and Tambra Laurent; stepdaughter, Rhonda King and husband Tunney; two sons, Chad Laurent and wife Anna, and Craig Laurent and wife Sandra; four sisters, Marguerite Foor, Geri Fermell, Naida Altazan and Nelda Coffee; brother, Leo Laurent; 15 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his son, baby boy Laurent; and parents, Stephen and Marguerite Laurent. Pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Brandon Amos, Tunney King, Trey LeBlanc and Ehren Achee; and grandsons, Hunter Silvio and Austin King. Honorary pallbearers are his brother, Leo Laurent, grandson, Jacob Laurent, and Timmy Brinkley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to LifeSource Hospice, 3049 S.
