Marlo joined our Heavenly Father on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. She was 68 years old. Marlo was a Catholic nun for eight years with the Marionites of Holy Cross in New Orleans before realizing her true calling to be a devoted wife and mother. She traveled from coast to coast as a Naval officers wife and taught at many schools and universities along the way. Marlo was a terrifically talented artist and a tremendously generous and beautiful person. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Gettys Jr., who was of Baton Rouge and by her father, Dr. L. O. Cazes, who was of Plaquemine. She is survived by her mother, Margaret M. Cazes, of Baton Rouge her daughter and her husband, Mary Marguerite and William Patrick Paul, of Baton Rouge by her three sisters and their husbands, Jeanne and Fredrick Tulley, of Baton Rouge, Pamela and Richard Fuller, of The Woodlands, Texas, and Laure and Robert VanKerkhove, of Baton Rouge as well as by her three precious granddaughters, Sadie Lynne, Carissa Grace and Shanna Marie Paul, all of Baton Rouge by her nieces and nephews, Kristen Morales, Fredrick Tulley, Katherine Tulley, Lauren Gaspard and Richard Trey Fuller III and her greatnieces and greatnephews. Visiting will be at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 15615 Old Jefferson Highway, on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Philip Spano. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
