Marlena Torre Mire, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother died peacefully at the Butterfly Wing with her loving husband Robert “Bob” Mire at her side.
Marlena was a native of Guayaquil, Ecuador and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA.
She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Salazar and husband Gregg Lubritz of Baton Rouge, LA., and Carol Salazar and husband Karl Goldstein of Berkeley, CA. She is also survived by her two step-daughters, Sonia and husband Duke Roddy of Gonzales, La., Robie and husband Paul D’Agostino; her step-son, Chad Mire of Prairieville, LA; her grandchildren, Kylie Mire, Asher Salazar, Sophia Lubritz, Chelsea Murphy, Cailtin Roddy, Alyssa and Nicholas D’Agostino of Baton Rouge, LA., Ruby and Stella Goldstein de Salazar of Berkeley, CA.; and great-grandson, Elias Murphy of Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by two brothers, Gary and Efrain “Nelson” Torre of Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Baton Rouge, LA., From 10:30 am until a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 pm. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
