Born in New Orleans on June 26, 1933, he grew up in Baton Rouge, spending time in California, where his father served during World War II. He passed away Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, While growing up in Fairfields, he spent many happy summer days visiting his beloved grandmother in New Orleans. Mark attended Baton Rouge High, where his talent in art was developed and nurtured. During the renovation of Baton Rouge High, some of Marks art work was uncovered, still there after all these years. After time spent attending LSU, he began work as a commercial artist for WAFB, Channel 9, during the 1950s. From building sets to preparing art work for the camera, his designs were part of the early development of the channels look. He was there from the mid1950s until his retirement in 1996. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 20, from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10 a.m. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Mark was preceded in death by his grandmother, Adele Delatte parents, Mark M. Mulkey Sr., a native of Austin, Texas, and Estelle Gentile Mulkey, born in New Orleans. Survived by his wife, Jessie Slocum Mulkey stepsons, Phillip Kerr and Charles Kerr brother, Michael M. Mulkey sister, Marilyn Mulkey Bush and their children, Michael Mulkey, Matthew Mulkey, Michelle McCloud, Cindy Tiek, Stacey Morales, Robert Bush Jr., and their children.
