A carpenter and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Friday, May 15, 2009, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet. He was 50 and a native of West Lafayette, Ind. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Tuesday, May 19, from 5 p.m. until religious service at 7 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Survived by his mother, Estelle Frazier Burns; a sister, Leslie A. Burns; a brother, Gary Burns and wife Aurelia; a niece, Christina M. Burns; and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred J. Burns; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. Mark was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He especially loved his truck. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
