Marjorie Murphree

Marjorie Zeringue Murphree, age 87, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on January 21, 2016.

Marjorie is survived by her four children and their spouses, Lonnie James and Pam Varnado Murphree, Karen M. and R. Keith Colvin, Randy Bernard and Debbie J. Murphree, and Danny Paul and Annetta Dupre' Murphree; her grandchildren, Holly Murphree Rorick, Haley Megan Robertson, Christopher Ryan Allen, Katie Allen Thomson, Charles Franklin Colvin, Mary Elizabeth Cassidy, William F. Colvin, Micah David Murphree, Amanda Hope Murphree, Sharon Rose Murphree, Brittany Maire Thrower, and Marietta Lynn Murphree; her 11 great-grandchildren; her 2 brothers, Francis Zeringue and Richard Zeringue and wife, Charmaine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bernie A. Murphree; and her parents, Felician and Elmire Zeringue.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday, January 24, 2016, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Monday, January 25, 2016, from 9:00 AM until the time of services.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016, at 10:00 AM.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

The family of Marjorie wishes to give a special thanks to all the family and friends who have supported them during this time, as well as a special thanks to the staff at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice.
