Marjorie Fontenot

Marjorie Manuel Fontenot, age 87, a resident of Thibodaux, passed away on October 21, 2017.

Marjorie was a retired instructor from Louisiana Technical College, Lafourche Campus. She was a CPS, Certified Professional Secretary. She had her Masters Degree in Business Education. She won Educator of the Year in Lafourche Parish in 2010 Notary Public in Evangeline Parish.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Kirk Fontenot and Brian G. Fontenot and wife Maxine; her grandchildren, Elijah Fontenot and wife Jenna, Marla Rushing, Jacob Rushing and wife Grace, Carly Rushing, Joe Fontenot, and Linzy Bertrand; her great-grandchildren, Eisley Rushing and Trinity Rushing; her brother, Webster Manuel and wife Manuela; and her half sister, Georgiana Manuel.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Floyd Fontenot; her parents, George D. Manuel and Merice Fontenot; her grandson, Gabriel Fontenot; her great-grandson, Ellis Rushing; and her half sister, Charlene Manuel.

Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow.
