Marion Hines Hunt, Sr

Marion H. (“Mickey”) Hunt, Sr, a resident of Brusly, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, surrounded by his devoted family.  He was 82 years old and a native of Bunkie, Louisiana. 

Mickey retired from Dow Chemical and the Elliot Company after and was able to pursue the joys in his life:  family, woodworking in his shop and traveling in his motorhome.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Donna Courtney Hunt; their daughters Travis Ann Hunt and Pamela Barrilleaux; their sons Marion Hunt, Jr. and wife Andrea, Keith Hunt and wife Patty, and Kraig Hunt and wife Maudie; and his brother, Bill Hunt.  He is also survived by their beloved grandchildren Kayla Maduro, Kasen Parrish, Christina Donnelly, Katie Donnelly, Ethan Johns, Lauren Hunt, Tyler Hunt, Jerame Hunt, Jesse Hunt, Luke, Phillip, Gabe, Mark, Stephen and Francesca Hunt, and Steven Ellis; and great-grandchildren Kirby Maduro, Tallon and Lillie Donnelly, Julianne and Janie Hymel, Charles Hunt, Lance, Chloe, and Kylee Hunt, and Gavin and Evelyn Ellis.

Mickey is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Florence Hunt; his brother Freddie Hunt; and his sisters, Jerry Wright and Margie Pierce.

We would like to thank Amedisys Hospice, especially Trisha, Kara, Patricia Spears, Toni, Dane, and Kevin for all the special care you gave to Mickey – we are truly grateful. A special thanks goes to Yancy Guerin.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.  A Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.  Honoring Mickey as pallbearers will be Marion Hunt, Jr, Keith Hunt, Kraig Hunt, Andy Maduro, Jesse Hunt, and Tyler Hunt.  Serving as honorary pallbearer is Stephen Hunt.
