Marilyn Swindler Macmurdo, born June 23, 1938 in Cottonport, LA and resident of Baton Rouge passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. On this morning our Heavenly Father called his angel home. She is now free to run and dance with the Lord.
She was a wonderful beautiful person who always had a great attitude, was full of faith, and exhibited gratitude towards life. Marilyn graduated High School from Rosaryville, Ponchatoula, LA and attended St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, LA.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Hal Bailey Macmurdo; sons, Hal David Macmurdo and wife Liz of Baton Rouge, Charles Howard Macmurdo of Baton Rouge, William Edward Macmurdo and wife Mimi of Baton Rouge; Brother, David Swindler and wife Eloise of Evergreen; sisters: Helen Feduccia and husband Don of Alexandria, Nancy Thevenot and husband Herbert of Bunkie, Fay Walker and Stephanie Armand of Baton Rouge; sister in-law, Sandy Swindler of Lafayette. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Bailey Macmurdo, Paul Monroe Macmurdo, and Rachel Marie Macmurdo; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Bernard and Alma Ducote Swindler; and siblings, Suzanne S. Smith and Howard "Bubba" Swindler.
Relatives and friends are invited to join us at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA for a celebration of Life. Visitation is on Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 11:00 am until service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
