A celebration of life: There will be visitation at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3791 Aletha Drive, on Tuesday, March 3, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Willis Ray Curtis. A retired office assistant for the Louisiana Department of Education, she died at 3:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 87, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Orleans. Survived by a son, William Bill Alexander III and wife Cheryle, of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Marilouise Marilu Ballow, of Houston, and Elizabeth Beth Alexander and husband Bill, of Shreveport; sister-in-law, Mickey Wagner; five grandchildren, Robin Lonchar and husband Mike, Renee Grimes and husband Bobby, Bart Alexander and wife Misty, Brooke Conley and husband Patrick and Brannon Alexander; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a niece, Lota LaMonica and husband John; a nephew, Hugh Wagner; and numerous friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Marqurite Wagner; four brothers, Hugh, Charles, Everest and Clarence Wag Wagner; two sisters, Soline and Cora Wagner; and a grandson, Joseph Ballow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3791 Aletha Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70814. She was a devoted member of St. Luke's for more than 45 years and very involved in the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. She loved God, sewing, reading, gardening and fellowship with friends.
