Marie C. Rosetta, a strong and courageous woman, died at 4 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at her sons home from cancer and heart disease. She was 68, born in Birmingham, Ala., where she lived for most of her life until recently moving to Baton Rouge to be near her son. She was the daughter of Beulah Gilbert Pulliam and Willis Mason Caldwell. She was the mother of Tommy and Susan. Marie was a retired registered surgical nurse for 34 years, last working at Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham. Her son, Thomas R. Methvin III, and his father and stepmother, Reid and Belinda Methvin, survive her. Also survived by a brother, Rodney Schafner, of Augusta, Ga. Her parents, and daughter, Susan Marie Methvin, preceded her in death. Memorial visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home on Saturday, May 1, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital . Marie loved the beach and collecting beautiful seashells. We will miss her.
