A loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and wife to our beloved father, Marie Pizzuto died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 at her home at 1:50 p.m. She was 93 and a native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Sept. 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 6 p.m. Visiting Tuesday at the funeral home from 8 a.m. until 10:55 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Catholic Church at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Michael J. Schatzle. Entombment in St. George Mausoleum. Survived by her five daughters and four sonsinlaw, Marian Doyal, Lynne and Clyde Pearson, Kathy and Harold Harris, Joyce and Larry Howell, and Carolyn and Joe Green two sons, Joseph Charles Pizzuto, Jr. and wife Pat, and Barry John Pizzuto sister, Margaret Noto Vidrine 17 loving grandchildren, Sharon Morgan, Joey Pizzuto, Linda Howes, David Pizzuto, Ricky Doyal, Shelley Alexander, Kristi Rounds, Eddie Louis, Ashley Franklin, Kortney Harris, Amanda Pizzuto, Erin Van Wey, Jonathan Nickens, Brett Howell, Brennan Howell, Jeff Green, and Matt Green 20 greatgrandchildren and three greatgreatgrandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Charles Pizzuto, Sr., with 56 years of marriage father and mother, Tony and Lena Noto and brother and sister, Henry A. Noto and Zena Noto Scott. Her nine grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and eight granddaughters will carry her in their hearts today and forever. Special thanks to Audubon Home Health and St. Joseph Hospice for the care and compassion given to our mother. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to her caregiver, Karen Larks. She made our Mom laugh every day and for that we will be forever grateful.
