A native of Port Allen, LA, resident of Denham Springs, LA. She passed away peacefully at her home Nov. 6,2012. She was 76. For five years she fought a hard battle with Alzheimers and was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 She retired from W. Baton Rouge parish school board and also owned Childrens Express Daycare center in Port Allen. After retiring, she drove for Council on Aging in Port Allen. She is survived by two daughters, Fredda J. Matherne, Jackie J. Fontenot and husband Anthony. Two sons, Johnny B. Jarreau and Becky and Wayne M. Jarreau and wife Robin. Two stepdaughters Susie L. Ruckle and husband Bruce, Pamela L. Maxwell and husband Will, and a stepson Joey Lucita and wife Karen. Four sisters, Frances Bacot, Barbara Jones, Mary Alford, Rita Reulet and a brother Percy Tanner. Six grandchildren, Erich, Michael, Anthony, Jeremy, Tasha, and Clayton. Eight greatgrandchildren, Peyton, Courtlyn, Mattie, Nate, Jordan, Chanler, Reed, and Gabbi. Stepgrandchildren, Callie, Kayla, Katie, Caleb, Mia, Jessica, Jennifer, Josh, and Justin. Special thanks to Felicia McCants for always being there, her sitter Mona Foster, and the Generations Hospice group. Pallbearers are Erich Matherne, Michael Prejean, Anthony Fontenot, Jeremy Jarreau, Clayton Jarreau, and Chad McCants. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Sammy J. Lucita, her parents Percy and Letitia Tanner, soninlaw Jim Matherne, brotherinlaw Jimmy Jones, and greatgranddaughter Camrynn Fontenot. Visitation will be Friday Nov. 9th 5 pm9 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, with a rosary at 7 pm and Saturday Nov. 10th from l0 aml pm, service at 1 pm. with Father Frank at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
