Marie, known as MeMe, an amazing woman, was a pillar of courage and faith to all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Marie went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at age 90, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bill and parents, Nicholas and Josephine Parrino. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched in her own special way, but none more than her beloved daughter, Barbara Boo Long and her husband, Kerry. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Kellie Long Bouquet and her husband, Jason, Kevin Long and his wife, Denise, and Keith Long five greatgrandchildren, Hunter, Hagen and Hailey Long, and Collin and Caroline Bouquet. She adored her daughter, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren, who knew her as MeMe. She is also survived by two sisters, Lucille Vidrine and her husband, Thomas, and Patsy Stevens and her husband, Van and two brothers, Nicholas Parrino and his wife, Janice, and Tony Parrino and his wife, Crystal and a sisterinlaw, Dorothy Jean Horne. Family and friends were blessed to have her in their lives and will cherish the countless memories made during that time. It is during these most difficult times that you rediscover the meaning of family and friends and she was truly blessed with the best of both. The family wishes to thank everyone who visited and thought of them through their prayers during her time of illness. A special thanks to Jessica Young, Roxanne Davis, Martha James, Michael Efferson and Shelby Criss, five loving friends who helped care for MeMe during her illness. They were God sent. Marie was a faithful and dedicated member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Central for 30 years. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Sunday, Jan. 31, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home chapel on Monday, Feb. 1, from 9:30 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Steve Johnson, pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church, and her soninlaw, Kerry Long. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the Faith.
