Marie passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at The Carpenter House after a lengthy illness. Marie had lived ninety blessed years with her last birthday on Easter Sunday past. Marie has resided in Baton Rouge for 20 years with her birthplace of New Orleans being her residence for most of the other 70 years. New Orleans was her love. Marie was born April 20, 1924 in New Orleans to Riley Ray Ryan, Sr. and Josephine Jeanne Andree Ader Ryan. Marie had one brother and four sisters. She proudly worked for the Navy during World War ll. She was married to Joseph Henry Bloemer on August 27, 1949 and had three children, Michael Joseph Bloemer, Anne Marie Bloemer and Gregory Joseph Bloemer. After retiring from a supervisory position with the United States Government, Marie finished her education by proudly receiving a degree in Anthropology from the University of New Orleans. Marie enjoyed researching the family tree of all persons connected to her family, and she was very good at it
She is survived by one son Michael Joseph Bloemer one daughter, Anne Marie Bloemer Tucker Rudy as well as five grandchildren, Ciara and Nora Bloemer, John and Matthew Tucker and Kelly Bloomer SaezJevon and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Riley Ray Ryan, Sr., her mother, Josephine Jeanne Andree Ader Ryan, her husband Joseph Henry Bloemer, one child, Gregory Joseph Bloemer and all of her siblings.
Services at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Thursday, June 5th, 2014 at 11:30 am with visitation from 9:30 till 11:30 am. Interment in New Orleans at St. Louis 3 cemetery at approximately 1:30 pm after services.
