Marian Gill Moses passed away Tuesday night as a result of injuries suffered in a traffic accident. She was 81 years old, born to Aubrey and Mary Agnes Gill in Dallas TX on July 20, 1936. Since 1959 she lived in Baton Rouge. Marian was a graduate of North Texas University. She married Gerald Eugene Moses in 1957. The couple had four children, Ernest Gill Moses of Houston TX, Lawrence Kent Moses of Prairieville LA, Allen Keith Moses of North Richland Hills TX, and Mary Elaine Smith of Sarasota FL. Their extended families include Marcy Moses of Houston and grandchildren John Gerald Moses of Downsville LA, Kenneth Michael Moses of McKinney TX., Jennifer Perez del Burgo of Tomball TX; Marie Mote Moses of North Richland Hills, and grandchildren, Spencer Andrew Moses of North Richland Hills, and Emily Michelle Keckler of Butte MT; Gary Carlton Smith of Sarasota, and grandchildren, Alison Danielle Madden of Bradenton FL, Christina Leigh Karp of Edinburgh Scotland and Carly Lockhart of Prairieville LA, and 11 great-grandchildren. Marian loved equally the children and grandchildren related through second marriages and she extended the same unconditional love to nieces and nephews, and their children. She kept an active interest in her church, the First Christian Church, D.C., of Baton Rouge and followed closely political events in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the nation. In college, she was a top scholar and edited the college yearbook in her senior year. In married life, she excelled in first civilizing her young children. She encouraged them in school and then followed closely the successes of her children and grandchildren in adult life, and made a special effort to always remember them on their birthdays and on holidays. Visitation will be held at First Christian Church on Old Hammond Hwy. from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017. Visitation will resume on Monday, November 20, 2017 at First Christian Church from 9 a.m. until funeral service at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to First Christian Church or a charity of your choice.
