Marguerite Oufnac

A devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved sitting around a campfire while camping at Toledo Bend and enjoyed cruising with the Baton Rouge Boat Club. She was known for her friendly, competitive poker and bourre games. She was a 1945 graduate of Istrouma High School. She died at home, Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at 5:45 PM, surrounded by many loved ones. She was 86 years young. Visiting at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane on Friday Dec. 7 from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM conducted by Fr. Martin. Rita will be laid to rest at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy. She is survived by two daughters and a soninlaw, Marcia Oufnac Saisorn and Maureen Beanie Oufnac Edwards and Bryan Sid Edwards three sons and daughtersinlaw, Murphy L., Jr. and Marilyn Barber Oufnac, Michael J. and Dale Daughtry Oufnac, and Mark D. and Janet Vanlandingham Oufnac 17 grandchildren, Shelby Oufnac Pluskat and husband Tom Pluskat, David S. Oufnac and wife Elizabeth Bess Hendry Oufnac, Seth J. Oufnac and wife Wesley Wes Nelson Oufnac, Sage Saisorn, Bard Saisorn, Christopher Oufnac, Amanda Oufnac Thrasher and husband Zeb Thrasher, Jennifer Oufnac, Alexis Oufnac Cooley and husband Dakota Cooley, Erica Oufnac, Lindsey Oufnac, Rachel Oufnac, Susan Oufnac, Cody Edwards, Delaney Edwards, Chase Edwards and Jack Ryan Edwards 5 greatgrandchildren, Amalee, Lucy, Leela and Jenny Thrasher and George Murphy Oufnac 4 sisters, Joyce Braud Watts and husband Pearlie Watts, Olive Braud Mouch, Beverly Braud Scanlan and husband George Scanlan, Jr., and Jesse Braud Stevens and husband Paul Stevens, Sr. and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Murphy L. Oufnac, Sr., parents John Elder Braud, Sr. and Olive Edmonston Braud, sister Jewell Braud Achord, and brother John E. Braud, Jr. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Brenda Jones for her help, support and loving care. Pallbearers will be David Oufnac, Sage Saisorn, Bard Saisorn, Christopher Oufnac, Seth Oufnac, Cody Edwards, and Bryan Sid Edwards. Honorary Pallbearers are Chase Edwards and Jack Ryan Edwards.
