Margie Thompson

A resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 2 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2008, at age 87. She was a U.S. Navy veteran, having been honorably discharged as a yeoman second class. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Albert Ellis of St. George Catholic Church. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by her brother-in-law, Frank Gregory; sisters-in-law, Ann and Joyce Torregrossa; 30 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas J.T. Thompson; parents, Leon Joseph Torregrossa Sr. and Cecile Fortier Torregrossa; three brothers, Leon Joseph Brother Torregrossa Jr., Jerry Edmund Torregrossa and Alfred Robert Freddie Torregrossa; and four sisters, Gladys Heloise Torregrossa Thompson, Rosemary Cecile Torregrossa Gregory, Bernie Mae Marie Torregrossa Kogel and Patricia Alice Torregrossa Kleinpeter. Pallbearers will be Frankie Kleinpeter, Jerry Kleinpeter, James Kogel, Mark Kogel, John Torregrossa and Robby Torregrossa. Aunt Margie will live in our hearts and memories forever and will be dearly missed by all who loved her. Special thanks to the Retirement Center for the loving care given.
