I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness... 2 Timothy 4:78 Margie Fleming, 89, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 16, 2012. She was born in Baton Rouge and was a longtime resident of Central. She married her high school sweetheart, Leroy Fleming, in 1941, raised a family and drove a bus for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system for 28 years. She taught Sunday school at First Pentecostal Church of Baton Rouge for 40 years. After retiring from the school system, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of many garden clubs and was an accomplished homemaker. Margie succeeded at everything she tried, including painting, sewing, baking and flower arranging. She is survived by Leroy, her loving husband of 70 years children, Cheri Sevier and husband Rick, and Patricia McKenzie and husband Fred grandchildren, Lynn Alline and husband Mike, Ricky Sevier, and Jeff McKenzie and wife Pam greatgrandson, Layne Fleming brothers, Walter Bernard and wife Joan, and Elton Bernard and wife Loretta sisters, Florence Williams, and Rosemary Ward and husband Brian sistersinlaw, Ruby and Jewel Bernard. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter J. and Lillian Bernard brothers, L.J. and Morris O. Bernard sister, Ethel Waller daughterinlaw, Barbara Fleming grandson, Randy Fleming and son, Michael Fleming. Visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, on Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 10 a.m. until service at 11:30 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to theAmerican Diabetes Association , P.O.
