Margaret “Deeda” Daigle was born on Pecan Plantation owned by her grandparents, Edward and Melanie Landaiche Songy, in Plaqumine LA on September 9, 1932, and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 10, 2021, at the age of 88 years old.
Service will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:30am, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, GA, with Rev. Larry Niese officiating. A viewing in Baton Rouge, LA will be held Friday, January, 15, 2021 at 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home (11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816), with a funeral service to follow on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 9:30 am with Rev. Michael Miceli officiating. Entombment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.
She was a resident of Woodstock, GA and an active member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Sideliners Retirement Club, The Red Hat Society, Cruisin Cajuns, and the Association de Le Famille Daigle. Deeda was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who devoted her life to the Lord, her family, and her friends.
She was happily married to the love of her life, Nolan P. Daigle Sr. for more than 57 years. Together, these RV’ers traveled the United States and Canada while enjoying fishing, dancing, and visiting friends and family.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, Nolan P. Daigle Sr.; daughter Cheryl Monte; parents, Kenneth Dupuy and Emily Songy Dupuy; sister Emily “Bitsy” Breaux.
She is survived by her son Nolan P. Daigle Jr. (Glenda); daughters Renee Keating (Thomas), Kristie Langlois, Tara Hewitt (Richard); sister Shirley Landry (Wayne); eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are: Landon Keating, Shawn Keating, Joseph Monte Jr, Derek Langlois, Anthony (Bus) Culotta, and Kyle Thibodeaux.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to KBG Foundation in honor of her great grandchild Emilee Ann Hunter, or donations can be made to St. Michael Catholic Church in memory of Margaret Daigle.
