Margaret Cassisa

Margaret Alice ("Mickey") Desormeaux Cassisa, the daughter of L.C. Desormeaux, Sr. and Mazie D. Desormeaux, was born in Mermentau, Louisiana on February 6, 1933 and died in Baton Rouge on April 6, 2022 (89 years old).  She earned a bachelor's degree in business from Our Lady of the Lake College in San Antonio, where she was president of the Alpha Beta Business Fraternity and Representative of the National Federation of College Students.  Mickey lived in New Orleans for many years, where she was active in the St. Frances Cabrini Parish Prayer Group, Magnificat, and Catholic Charismatic Renewal.  She was married to Paul V. Cassisa, Sr. for almost 65 years, and was the loving mother of their five children: Yvonne C. Fraychinaud, deceased (Eric); Paul V. Cassisa. Jr. (Jane); Thomas J. Cassisa (Carol); Margaret Cassisa Hecker (David); and Michelle M. Cassisa. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge on April 19, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11:00 a.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 9:00 a.m.  A private burial will take place at Lake Lawn in Metairie on April 20, 2022.  Margaret’s family extends their sincere appreciation to everyone at Sunrise at Siegen, Griswold Home Care of Baton Rouge, and The Hospice of Baton Rouge for their kind and loving care.
