Margaret Ott Blackwell, 83, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 30, 2017.
Visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 11:30am until funeral services at 12:30pm.
Margaret Ann was born November 6, 1933 to Eunice Simmons and Kenneth Ott. She graduated from Osyka High School. After high school she attended Southwest Mississippi College on a basketball scholarship and Southeastern University on a Music scholarship. Margaret Ann was known for her beautiful voice.
She loved to work and retired from LSU International Programs at the age of 76. Margaret Ann enjoyed her years of retirement. She will always be remembered for her love of life and encouraging words to everyone.
Margaret Ann is survived by a son, Arlen "Tiger" Blackwell II and wife Kayla; three daughters, Dinah and husband Sandy Sims, Sally and husband Dudley Lampton, and Gina and husband Jay Alvaro; her grandchildren, Alli Sims, Sandy Sims, Jr and wife Meagan, John Jay Alvaro and wife Corrie, Christopher Alvaro and wife Lynn, Margaret Alice Lampton, and Dudley Lampton, Jr., Amanda Kate and Brady Mac; and her five great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, Eunice Simmons and Kenneth Ott and husband, Arlen Ray Blackwell, Sr.
