Fernandez, Manuel Baltazar
Manuel Baltazar Fernandez, fondly called Manny, a native of Manila, Philippines and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on November 20, 2014. He was 74 years old.
Husband of Aida Cabarloc Fernandez father of Marie Jane Elizabeth Killeen, married to Daniel grandfather of Krissie Krystle son of the late Osmundo Fernandez, Sr. and the late Helen Baltazar Fernandez. Survived by brothers, Jose Fernandez and Aniceto Fernandez, and sister, Julieta Fernandez. Preceded in death by daughter, Maria Lourdes son, Robert Ryan Steve and brothers, Osmundo Fernandez, Jr. and Arthur Fernandez. Manny graduated with honors from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines with a B.A. in Philosophy and Letters. He was a publicist for movie, television and radio celebrities, a movie and television columnist, a movie and television scriptwriter, a journalist, a special education teacher, and a book author. He was a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge and a frequent visitor of the Adoration Chapel. He was a member of the St. Thomas More Contemporary Choir, the Our Lady of Fatima Block Rosary Group, and the YMCA. Manny was intelligent with a good sense of humor and great presence and style. He was kind, generous, and compassionate. He loved to eat, play basketball, sing, and ballroom dance. Manny will be greatly missed.

Friends and relatives are invited to visitation on Saturday, November 29th at 12:00 noon and funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church followed by inurnment service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home.
