As the apostle Paul wrote To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, as she is today. She was a person who loved her family with unconditional and unrelenting love. She celebrated her 87th birthday with her family on Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Butterfly Wing of Ollie Steele Burden. She passed away on Monday October 15, 2007, at 2:00 am. She was born in East Baton Rouge Parish to Albert Lee and Augusta Bess Walker. Visitation for Ms. Yarbrough will be on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and October 17, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Services will follow on Wednesday October 17, 2007 at 10 a.m. at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. It will be conducted by Pastor Milford Walters. Ms. Yarbrough is survived by her husband John O Tap Yarbrough, two sons, John O Johnny Yarbrough Jr., and Ronald D. Ron Yarbrough and his wife Bonnie. Four granddaughters, Janell Pellichino and her husband Rex, Traci Yarbrough, Laurie Malone and her husband Pat, and Rhonda Benoit and her husband Daniel. She has 8 great grandchildren, Justin, Brandon and Megan Pellichino, Caitlin and Ryan Malone, and Brock, Blake and Desiree Benoit. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law, Bernita Walker from Iowa and Bobbie Walker from North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lee and Augusta Bess Walker, two brothers, Morris Lee Walker and Richard Dale Walker. Pallbearers will be Rex Pellichino, Pat Malone, Daniel Benoit, Justin Pellichino, Brandon Pellichino, and Dr. Kenneth Wilkinson. She was retired from the East Baton Rouge Parish School Transportation Office and was a member of Victoria Baptist Church. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, 9063 Seigan Lane, Suite A, Baton Rouge, La. 70810.
