A resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at St. Charles Parish Hospital, Luling. He was 59 and a native of Burns, Miss. He loved fishing and golfing. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, Saturday, June 25, from 2 p.m. until chapel service at 3:30 p.m., conducted by Pastor Jimmy Arnder and Pastor Billy Holifield. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his mother, Doris Burns son, Capt. Ashley Burns, USAF, and wife Amber three daughters, Jennifer Owens and husband Donald, Stacey Burns and fianc Joey Lovell, and Adaina Potter Watson and husband Brian a sister, Rose Winstead and husband Tommie three brothers, Mike Burns and wife Debra, Bill Burns and wife Sue, and Wayne Burns and wife Nancy 10 grandchildren, Airel, Michael, Jeremiah, Donald Jr., Caleb, Erica, Ethan, Brooklynn, Stephen and Teron and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Zito Burns father, John Harvey Burns sister, Ann Massey and stepson, Teron Bradley Potter.
