A retired truck driver and resident of Baker, he died at 3:31 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2010, at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 65 and a native of Lumberton, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served as deputy clerk, sharpshooter with rank of private E1 from 1961 to 1964. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 20, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting resumes Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Milford Walters. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by his wife, Paula Evans three daughters, Melissa Burge Chaisson, Tanga McNemar and Leanna Marshall four sisters, Theresa Burge Blair, Trudy Songy Vince, Carolyn Galloway and Fay Hebert brother, Glenn Burge Sr. and wife Emma and three grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon and Shana. Preceded in death by his parents, Dolton Mack Burge and Geneva Hartfield Burge son, Dolton Mack Burge II and stepfather, Steven Ray Songy. Special thanks to Marvin and Pat Sitz for being there when Mickey needed them the most. The family also extends their thanks to nurse Ingrid, nurse Melody and staff at Lane Regional Medical Center and numerous loyal friends and faithful dog Toby.
