LySandra Renee (“Sandy”) Bailey passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born September 8, 1947, in Ida, Louisiana to Samuel Lummus and Betty Maddox Lummus. She attended Donaldsonville High School. Sandy was Vice-President of American Banking, where she was a dedicated employee for over 25 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 53 years, Ronald Bailey; and their son, Samuel Tate Bailey. Sandy is survived by her loving son, Ronald Gregory Bailey; and her grandson, Brandon Rouse. She is also survived by her partner and dear friend of 25 years, Bobby Holmes, whose love and attention meant so much in their life partnership the last four years, as well as his family.

Sandy was a longtime member of Healing Place Church, where she served on their Young at Heart and cancer ministries. She was selfless and loved putting others first. Sandy had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her dogs, but nothing could bring her the joy that she felt in spending time with her family. We will forever cherish the memories made.

The family would like to acknowledge a loving family members and close friends Danita Lummus Hughes and Tommie Lummus Barret and Ken and Amy Spivey with Healing Place Church for their years of spiritual counsel and friendship.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Healing Place Church, 19202 Highland Road in Baton Rouge. A memorial visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. 

At the family’s request, a private inurnment will be held at a later date.
