Lynwood Sharon Jr.

December 6, 1941 — April 16, 2015

Lynwood Richard Sharon Jr., age 73, of Many, LA, left his earthly home and entered into eternal life with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Shreveport, LA, after a long, courageous fight battling cancer.

Richard was born December 6, 1941 in Baton Rouge, LA, to Lynwood and Mary Sharon. After he finished school, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and served honorably and valiantly in the Vietnam War. After his military service, he devoted his life to raising his boys and spoiling his grandchildren. He returned from CCPC in Corpus Christi, TX, and moved to Many, LA, where he made his home until his death. Richard was a devout man of faith.

He is survived by three sons, Richard Sharon, Byron Sharon and wife DeeDee of Odem, TX, and Terry Sharon and wife Linda of Houston, TX; brothers, Ronald Sharon and wife Brenda of Baton Rouge, LA, and Michael Sharon and wife Brinda of Marksville, LA. Richard was blessed with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who were the "apples of his eye", referring to him lovingly as "Paw Paw".
Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Lynwood and Mary Sharon; brother, Martin Sharon; and granddaughter, Rachel Sharon.

Richard was a positive example of love and devotion and will be sorely missed by all who love him so.
