Lynne Meole Rawley, 76, of Denham Springs, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021.
Lynne was born March 4, 1945 at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, the firstborn child of Charles N. and Julia Maloney Meole, and grew up with two sisters and two brothers. The family moved several times along the Gulf Coast - between Biloxi, MS and Beaumont, TX - before settling in Baton Rouge where Lynne graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1963. Later that year, she married James X. Rawley, Jr.
The couple eventually settled in Lake Charles, LA where they raised their only child, Joseph.
Lynne’s faith in her salvation through Jesus Christ was an important part of her life, and she was a long-time member of the Assemblies of God church.
Throughout her life, Lynne wore many hats: a teacher, a furniture salesperson, an executive assistant, a home stager, to name a few. But one thing that never changed was her love for creating art. Lynne excelled in painting, drawing, and ceramics. She loved bright colors, working with her hands, and decorating.
Lynne was a wonderful mother, daughter, and sister who was much loved by her family and friends. She had a deep devotion to her family, and cared for her mother-in-law, father, and former husband as they approached the end of their lives. She was also a tremendous animal lover, and gave homes to dogs like Fritz, Taffy, Pepper, and Maggie; and cats like Tess, Soot, Sammy, and Kizzie.
She is survived by her son, Joseph N. Rawley (Christophe Marques), brother Nick Meole (Karen), sisters Phyllis Meole (Jimmy Pierce) and Kathy Bernacchio (Paul), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
Lynne was predeceased by her former husband, James X. Rawley, Jr. and brother Charles Meoli
Visitation will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, August 5, 2021 from 12:30 pm until services at 2:00 pm.
