A native of Houston and a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, Lydia M. lsaacman was born March 25, 1918, and peacefully passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at her residence, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 91. At her request there will be no formal funeral services. A private memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. Mrs. lsaacman worked for the Port of Embarkation in New Orleans and at Sharp Field in Baton Rouge during the war years. She later worked for the Louisiana Department of Revenue until her retirement in 1971. She moved to Los Angeles and worked for Pacific Telephone until 1983. She returned to Baton Rouge in 2001 to reside with her daughter. Her husband, Jacob Isaacman, parents, three sisters and special feline companion, Prissy, preceded Mrs. Isaacman in death. She is survived by her only child, Linda lsaacman Brener and spouse Nathan Brener three adored grandchildren, Melissa Brener Campbell and husband Geoffrey Campbell, Melodie Brener Rinaudo and husband John Joseph Rinaudo, III and Josh Andrew Brener her precious greatgrandchildren, Alexandra Grace and Connor Elliott Campbell and Rileigh Anne Rinaudo nephews, Russell Salazar and Mark Hinojosa nieces, Sybil Coyner and Patricia Hinojosa and other relatives. Mom will be remembered for her tireless devotion in caring for the young, aged and infirmed members of her family. She loved to bake and worked into the wee hours of the morning making goodies for us to enjoy. Her favorite time of the year was spring, for it meant baseball season would soon begin and she could again cheer on her beloved Los Angeles Dodgers. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice of Baton Rouge for their unwavering help and support.
