Lucille Williams Sterling passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the age of 77. She was born July 16, 1946, in Natchez, Mississippi to Jessie Williams, Sr. and Sallie Tucker. Lucille retired as a licensed physical therapist assistant, where she helped mend countless people to health with her gentle, caring nature.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved grandson, Deville Murphy, Jr. Lucille is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Ledell Sterling; their devoted daughter, Lisa Sterling Allen and husband, Jermaine; and her brother John Baker and wife, Mechelle. She is also survived by the lights of her life, her grandchildren Janae Snowden and husband Eric, Terry Coleman and wife Deshaunte; and her great-grandchildren Malik Daniel, Jayden Allen, Logan Murphy and Taleya Coleman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Known for her impeccable sense of style, Lucille was always well-dressed, and loved a good hat! Her dedication to her church was ever-present, whether teaching God’s word, listening to gospel songs, or even singing in the church choir. Family meant everything to Lucille, and nothing made her happier than to spend Sundays in the kitchen cooking a large meal and having everyone over. We will miss her greatly, but the memories we have will forever remain in our hearts.
