Lovie Stevens

A sales associate for J.C. Penney and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at her home. She was 73 and a native of McAdams, Miss. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Friday, Dec. 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8, from noon until religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Dr. Kevin Hand. She is survived by her husband, Weldon J. Stevens; two daughters, Robin Hebert and husband Blake and Jana Dubal and husband Perry; six sons, Edward E. Gant Jr. and wife Becky, Gibson and wife Valerie, Rusty Gant and wife Shannon, Darryl Stevens and wife Amy, Larry Stevens and wife Lawanna, and Gus Stevens and wife Cindy; three sisters, a brother, 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward E. Gant Sr.; her parents, Marvin and Rilla Hodges; and eight siblings. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church for 15 years.
