Louise T. Fontenot, 82, died peacefully at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at her home in Baton Rouge. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Daniel Fontenot Jr.; son, Danny; adopted son, Hal Holloway; and beloved pet Min-Pin, Tiger. She is also survived by a brother, Belton Thibodeaux, and sister, Dorothy Gulillory, both of Lake Charles; in-laws, Frances Fontenot, Opelousas, and Theresa Arceneaux, Church Point; and numerous nieces and nephews, especially Brenda Cocke, Michael Courville, Sandra Demler, Bill Courville, Ollie Kimbro and Cherie Farr. Pallbearers will be Mike Courville, Bill Courville, Randy Fontenot, Dwayne Kegley, Emile Fontenot and Jared Cocke. The family would like to give special thanks to nurses Debra, Melissa, Cathy, Barbara, Irene, Glenda, Courtney, Megan and Michelle, and her oncologist, Dr. J. Brooks. Also, many thanks to the nurses and doctors at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Visitation at St Aloysius Catholic Church, Stuart Avenue, on Monday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Donald Blanchard and assisted by Johnny Veron. Music by Brent Honore. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Highway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LSU Foundation 4-H endowment in the name of Louise Fontenot.
