Louise H. Delaney, age 71, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, November 14, 2024. She was born on August 2, 1953, in Queens, New York, to William Otto Hutson and Mildred Hickman.
She grew up an Army military brat, traveling the world and living in such places as Okinawa and Huntsville. Caring for her own children and grandchildren was a huge part of Louise’s life. She also enjoyed watching kids in her in home daycare.
Everyone who knew Louise realized she cherished her family, most of all. She was happiest at the beach and vacationed there every summer with her family. She loved planning, and hosting parties that were enjoyed by friends and family.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred Hutson; her children, daughter, Daynie Roberthon and son-in-law, Joey; son, Shawn Delaney and daughter-in-law Sarah; her sisters, Lisa Hutson (Charles), and Billie Duffett (Paul); her brothers, Herman Hutson (Joanie) and Robert Hutson (Donna); her grandchildren, William, Josey, Camdon, Braelyn, and Savannah; partner Neil Maurer, as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
She is preceded in death by her father, William Hutson; and her husband of 36 years, Carlton “Dee” Delaney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Resthaven in Baton Rouge. Visitation will continue on Friday, November 22, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Pike Memorial Gardens located at 2039 US-98, McComb, MS, 39648.
Pallbearers will be Eli Hutson, Tyler Hutson, Jake Hutson, Camdon Stephens, William Roberthon, Coy Duffett, and Maverick Arvel.
The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers of At Home Care of Louisiana and the staff at Clarity Hospice for their help during this difficult time.
