Louis Daniel Michel Jr., native of New Orleans, LA, resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015. He was 89 years old, born on October 28, 1925.
Louis was an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Louis stayed very active with his electronics and carried his iPad everywhere. He was also an avid reader. Louis retired from Asbestos Workers Local No. 53 after working there for 20 years.
Louis is survived by his daughters, Patricia Michel and husband Gerald Lustic, and Kris M. Fussell and husband Mark N. Fussell; son, Louis D. Michel III (Mike); grandchildren, Cory Thomas Lustic, Madeline Rose, and Mary-Margaret Kathryn Fussell; sisters, Joyce Ashbrook and Jean Rose Mouton; and former wife, Marie N. Michel.
Louis is preceded in death by his first wife, Jennie Rose Michel and his parents, Louis and Mildred Michel.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday June 10, 2015, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11441 Goodwood Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, 70815, from 12:30 PM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 PM.
Pallbearers will include Warren Stabiler Jr., Russell Ferrara, Sam Losavio, Dominick Orlando, Gerald Lustic, and Mark Fussell.
Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Research Society, American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
