A retired truck driver and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. He was 84, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a native of New Orleans. Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, March 24, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m. Burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave., New Orleans, on Monday at 3 p.m. He is survived by four daughters, Dianne and husband Michael Reimonena, Baton Rouge, Shirley Bourda and Ernest Shippy, Euless, Texas, Susian and husband Milton Jones, Frisco, Texas, and Louise and husband Willie Daniels, San Antonio; three brothers, George Bourda Sr., St. Martinville, Charles Richard Bourda Sr., Baton Rouge, and Wilbert Bourda, Houston; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Bourda; his wife, Mary Smith Bourda; a sister, Thelma Ozene; and a brother, Allen Bourda.
