A memorial service honoring the life of Loubertha Theresa Webster will be held on Sunday, April 27th at 12:00 PM, located at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, LA 70816. A visitation will be held before the service beginning at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the service in The Legacy Room at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Loubertha Theresa Webster, 84, of Bossier City, Louisiana, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 17th. She was born on February 8, 1941, in Palmetto, Louisiana. Later, her parents and siblings moved to Port Arthur, Texas. Loubertha married and relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she lived for over 48 years. For 10 years, she resided with her youngest daughter in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Diagnosed with a meningioma tumor as a teenager, no one could have imagined how much she would accomplish in life. She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in LeBeau, Louisiana, and graduated in 1961 as the salutatorian of her class. After graduation, she taught at the same high school for a few years. Determined to further her aspirations, she enrolled in nursing school at Park Place Hospital, where she transitioned into the role of pharmacy technician. She earned her Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credential in just one year. Eventually, she met and fell in love with the man of her dreams, and they married on May 13, 1967. Despite medical advice to the contrary, she successfully gave birth to two daughters. Later, she pursued cosmetology and practiced in that field for several years. She was a woman filled with tenacity and many exceptional qualities.
Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Webster; mother, Florence Durisseau, Father Preston Durisseau, sister Earline Edwards Linden, and brothers Clarence Durisseau and Herbert Durisseau.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Theresa Augustus (Donald Jr.) and Christine B. Johnson. Her siblings are MaeAnna Broussard, Ann Cormier, Emile Durisseau, Yvonne Tennyson, Helen Cormier, Preston Durisseau, Jr., David Durisseau, and Kenneth Durisseau, brother and sister-in-law Wallace Webster (Loretta) and grandchildren Marcus DeRayus Webster, Arthur Thomas, Earnest Thomas Jr. & Anthony Louis Johnson, Jr., Trinity Johnson, Antonia Walker, and Anise Johnson: Great-grandchildren, Sophia Johnson, Ryan Dixon, and Antonio Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives, friends and loved ones.
She was a devoted Catholic who regularly prayed the rosary. She will be forever cherished and missed!
