Lorraine August

She passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in Baton Rouge, LA. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leon S. August. Lorraine was born and raised in New Orleans, LA graduated from St. Marys Dominican High School and attended St. Marys Dominican College. She was employed at Southern Bell before moving with Leon to the Alexandria, Virginia area in the late 1950s, when Leon spent his career working at the Naval Research Laboratory. Lorraine was an officer in the Dr. Elisha Dick Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Alexandria where she pursued her passion for genealogy. In 2003, Lorraine and Leon returned home to the New Orleans Baton Rouge area. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, James W. and Vertillian F. Donnelly sisters, Vertillian Salgado and RoseMarie Peterson brother, James F. Donnelly. She is survived by her sister, AnnClare Mart nieces, Kip Peterson, Kerry Bleikamp, Kelli Seitz, Cheryl Salgado, Vertie Nail and Darcel Waguespack nephews, Charles Mart, IV, Donnelly Don Peterson, A.F. Rick Peterson, III and J.D. Donnelly. The Rev. Jerry Martin will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 12424 Brogdon Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
