Having relied and trusted in God’s infinite grace, we share the news that Pastor Delge joined the Church Triumphant on Friday, March 15, 2024.
Loren E. Delgehausen was born April 5, 1935, and grew up on a farm in rural Shible Township, Swift County, Appleton Minnesota. He was a graduate of Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota, 1955, and Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois, 1960. He received a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, 1983, where he was also an Instructor of Speech Communication and Philosophy of Religion. He was ordained into the ministry of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod on August 14, 1960, and served for 43 years.
He served his country for 33 years as a Chaplain in the United States Army Reserve, attaining the rank of Colonel and completed his career as Command Chaplain for the 377th TAACOM in New Orleans, Louisiana. He enjoyed amateur archaeology with Jan, working with the University of Alabama Natural History Museum for many years, loved to travel, adored their rescue dogs, and was an avid fan of LSU.
