Visiting at Resthaven Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway, on Monday, Feb. 28, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting continues Tuesday, March 1, from 9 a.m. until service at 10 a.m., conducted by Pastor William Tramel. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his cousins, Everett Brittingham, Marilyn Williams and multiple other cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn W. Cox and Idella Brittingham Cox and a cousin, Bobbie Weaver. Many Baton Rougeans will remember Loren as the smiling face beneath the cowboy hat who waved to passersby from his front yard on Greenwell Springs Road for many years. Loren, a gentle soul, full of joy and love, was a blessing to all who knew him. He never met a stranger and always had a big grin and a kind word for everyone. He loved to help others from wiping dishes to pushing wheelchairs at his nursing home, he was always the first to volunteer. He freely expressed his love to his family and reminded us that we were in his prayers. Surely God listened carefully to the prayers of such a pure heart. Loren loved to laugh and would laugh at himself more than anyone. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him.
