Lois Crandell Folse

Lois Crandell Folse, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on September 2, 2024, at the age of 80. Lois was born on August 31, 1944, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to her parents James Latham Crandell Jr. and Lois Ethel Winter Crandell. She worked for Conoco Phillips as an Administrative Assistant for many years. Lois was a member of Jefferson United Methodist Church, The Desk and Derrick Club of Baton Rouge, The Women’s Council of Greater Baton Rouge, and the Beta Sigma Phi Friendship Sorority. 

Lois enjoyed being with her friends and family, planning events, volunteering her time, going out to dinner, attending the theater and concerts, and participating in water aerobics classes. She loved spending time with her grand-dogs and adding to her colorful flamingo collection. Lois was always up for anything and enjoyed life!

 She is survived by her sons, Louis Joseph Folse IV (Kim) and Latham Andrew Folse (Kristi); brother, James Latham Crandell III (Vickie); and many cousins residing in Texas and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and the father of her children, Louis Joseph Folse III.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Sobia Ozair, Jasmine Spearman NP, and the entirety of the OLOL Cancer Institute. Thanks also to her caregivers, Ramona McGregor and Amanda Goforth, who went above and beyond to ensure her comfort. 

Visitation will take place at Jefferson United Methodist Church, 10328 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 9:00 AM until services at 10:00 AM. A private burial will be held later.
