Lloyd Francis Williams was born on June 18th, 1938 in LaPlace, Louisiana, and passed away surrounded by his loving family on the morning of April 23rd, 2021 in Baton Rouge, LA. Funeral services will take place on April 28,2021, in Baton Rouge, LA.
Lloyd was the eldest of the late Frances Barbier Williams and Lloyd Romaine Williams of Reserve, Louisiana. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ursula Kotissek Williams; brother Harold Williams; his sisters, Janet Dubuc and husband Allen, and Anne Cifreo and husband Gerry; and his sister-in-law Marie Williams. He is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Williams.
Affectionately known as “Opa,” Lloyd was the patriarch of a family of 6 children and 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Stauss and husband Edward, daughters Madeline, Megan, and Jenny; Celeste Kerry, daughters Rachel and Olivia; Christopher Williams and wife Kelly, daughters Marjie and Judie; Scott Williams and husband Brady Brown, Thomas Williams and wife Angie, sons Nathan and Evan; and Lori Marascalco and husband John, children Annelies and Joseph.
Lloyd was a graduate of Catholic High School, class of ‘56, and the School of Engineering at Louisiana State University, class of 1962. He proudly served as Lieutenant in the United States Army in Germany from 1962 to 1965, where he met his bride of 56 years, Ursula. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for over 30 years and retired from Exxon Refinery in 1995. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
Visitation will be at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave, Baton Rouge, from 9:00 to 10:00, followed by a Mass at 10:00 am officiated by Father Cleo Milano and a Christian Burial immediately following at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 11817 Jefferson Hwy, Baton Rouge. Pallbearers will be his sons and grandsons. Special thanks to the devoted caregivers, Raechel, Mindy and Ann for the wonderful care they gave Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heart of Hospice of Baton Rouge, the Cancer Society or to HALO sitter services.
